Whitening FAQ's
We Are Available to Help Answer the Questions You May Have.
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment that uses a bleaching agent to break apart stains on the teeth.
As an in-office procedure, a whitening agent is applied to the teeth. A special whitening lamp or light is used to activate the bleaching agent and break down stains. Oxygen is released into the teeth to flush out set in discoloration. The procedure takes about 45 minutes so you can leave the office with newly whitened teeth.
Zoom! teeth whitening is an effective way to dramatically break up stains and brighten the teeth up to 8 shades! For optimal whitening results, use professional whitening treatments with your dentist in Pineville. A consultation is necessary to determine the most appropriate whitening treatment. Dental restorations may not whiten the same way as natural teeth.
To whiten the teeth safely, choose a professional treatment. A dental exam is performed first to ensure nothing stands in the way of your success. This also helps to ensure your mouth is healthy. During the whitening treatment, the teeth and gums are protected to reduce sensitivity.
For some patients, teeth whitening may cause initial sensitivity to the teeth and gums. Speak with your dentist about ways to avoid or minimize sensitivity and always seek professional whitening treatments. If you do experience sensitivity, over-the-counter pain relievers may help. Discomfort is short-term and should subside with time.
The cost of teeth whitening may vary depending on the treatment and the level of whiteness desired. Our dental team can give you an accurate estimate before your appointment.
Immediately following your whitening treatment, your teeth are more open and susceptible to stains. To prolong the effects of your whitening treatment, avoid or minimize the use of common staining products such as tomato-based products, coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. If you do consume dark liquids, use a straw and finish the drink in one sitting to reduce the time they sit on the teeth. As always, follow good oral health habits to keep your teeth healthy and to remove food particles and stains.

My anxiety runs high at the mention of dentist due to a prior awful experience, so needless to say I had a ton of questions that I was prepared to bombard the doctor with. Upon arrival the place is very well kept which is a plus. As stated my nerves run high at the dentist so just before the doctor arrived the dental assistant went over and beyond to ensure my comfort and equally as patient with me, was the doctor as he took time to thoroughly explain my proposed care plan to me. Then enters the office manager who sat down with me and discussed very pocket friendly options with me as far as payment. I had a great experience here. I think I've found my dental home and would definitely refer my family and friends.Deandra Reece

I have been a patient at this location since 2009. It has recently changed ownership with Dr. Desameau, DMD, AKA Dr. D. I was skeptical and questionable at first as any patient would be. My son saw him for a cleaning a few months prior and said "I like him, he's cool". All that being said what I liked about Dr. D on our first meeting was he point blank asked me "How do you feel about your teeth"? Wow.. blew me away.. Just for background, I want to save the ones I have. Dr. D is the da Vinci of dentistry. He basically rebuilt my front teeth with fillings.... All of my family and friends are amazed... The most important thing to know is he took his TIME and was not just adding a filling but creating art. I am looking forward to our follow up in regards to other areas of my teeth. The Dr. has me flossing, who knew. Dr. D "YOU ROCK!"Veronica Bezdek
