Whitening FAQ's
We Are Available to Help Answer the Questions You May Have.
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment that uses a bleaching agent to break apart stains on the teeth.
As an in-office procedure, a whitening agent is applied to the teeth. A special whitening lamp or light is used to activate the bleaching agent and break down stains. Oxygen is released into the teeth to flush out set in discoloration. The procedure takes about 45 minutes so you can leave the office with newly whitened teeth.
Zoom! teeth whitening is an effective way to dramatically break up stains and brighten the teeth up to 8 shades! For optimal whitening results, use professional whitening treatments with your dentist in Pineville. A consultation is necessary to determine the most appropriate whitening treatment. Dental restorations may not whiten the same way as natural teeth.
To whiten the teeth safely, choose a professional treatment. A dental exam is performed first to ensure nothing stands in the way of your success. This also helps to ensure your mouth is healthy. During the whitening treatment, the teeth and gums are protected to reduce sensitivity.
For some patients, teeth whitening may cause initial sensitivity to the teeth and gums. Speak with your dentist about ways to avoid or minimize sensitivity and always seek professional whitening treatments. If you do experience sensitivity, over-the-counter pain relievers may help. Discomfort is short-term and should subside with time.
The cost of teeth whitening may vary depending on the treatment and the level of whiteness desired. Our dental team can give you an accurate estimate before your appointment.
Immediately following your whitening treatment, your teeth are more open and susceptible to stains. To prolong the effects of your whitening treatment, avoid or minimize the use of common staining products such as tomato-based products, coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. If you do consume dark liquids, use a straw and finish the drink in one sitting to reduce the time they sit on the teeth. As always, follow good oral health habits to keep your teeth healthy and to remove food particles and stains.

This was my first time trying Radiant Smiles after a referral from a close friend and I couldn’t have had a better experience. The front desk associates were extremely nice, knowledgeable, and had amazing customer service. My dentist was a pleasure and allowed for me to ask questions while providing some techniques to incrementally improve on my dental hygiene. The entire staff adhered to COVID procedures and felt extremely safe while onsite. Thanks for the emphasis on a great experience! Will definitely be making this my permanent dentistry office.Jerry Bowens

My experience during my visit at Salisbury Family Dentistry was great. Dr. Robert Barton was very knowledgeable of the problem I actually thought I was having with my teeth. However, Dr. Barton allowed me to see, via. X-Ray, that my sinus was affecting the gum area where the tooth was lodged. He allowed me to see that I did not have a tooth problem. The pain was due to infected sinuses. Dr. Barton, Thank You Mrs. Cynthia JohnsonCynthia Johnson
