Pineville’s first settlers were mule traders who grazed on the open meadow fields in the area. During this time, Pineville was called Murrow’s turn out. 

By 1852, the Charlotte & Columbia Railroad was built across the town, making Pineville a railroad town. The railroad created economic opportunities for the residents. 

Over time, the railroad managers decided to rename the town from “Murrow’s turn out” to “Pineville.” The new name paid homage to the large pine trees in the area. The name Pineville was incorporated in 1873 and the town has evolved since then.

In the last hundred years, several events have shaped the history of Pineville from civil rights protests to the agricultural and industrial revolution. Today, Pineville is a suburban town with malls, restaurants, dental practices, hospitals, and entertainment centers.

The Icehouse is open every day of the week. The entry fee is $15 for all ages, and that pays for the rental skates and skating for a session. Visit their website to know public skating hours for the day you want to visit.

Due to the pandemic, visitors are required to wear a mask within the facility at all times. Also, the facility runs at 25% capacity to ensure that visitors can maintain social distance. That means you may be asked to wait for a session to end before you can enter the facility.

Trampolining at Sky Zone

For a good adrenaline rush and bellyful laughs, visit Sky Zone. It is a trampoline park with several trampolines, a dodgeball court, high ropes course, a parkour box, and more.

At Sky Zone, the atmosphere is charged. Everyone is active, laughing, and burning calories. 

Currently, the park opens by 12 noon and closes at 8 pm on weekdays, 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday and 12 pm to 8 pm on Sunday. 

Due to COVID, the park’s management adopted several safety measures for the staff and visitors. 

Visitor rules 

Rule 1 – everyone within the facility must wear a mask at all times. 

Rule 2 – use the hand sanitizers in the hand wash stations to wash your hands as often as possible.

Rule 3- follow the social distancing markers for queuing at stations.

Shop at the farmers market

You can shop for fresh food at the farmers market in Pineville. Here, the food items are freshly harvested and well preserved. The market is open on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 7 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 12 noon.
