Safe Sedation Dentistry
Nitrous oxide is a very safe option for sedation dentistry. The patient’s medical history is thoroughly reviewed to ensure there are no allergies or diseases that could cause adverse reactions. If used, the medication is closely monitored and controlled by the dental team throughout the procedure.
Nitrous oxide takes effect immediately. It does not cause drowsiness so the patient remains awake and can communicate with the dentist. The patient breathes in a combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide through a mask.
Once the treatment is over, the medication is stopped and the effects cease immediately without any lasting effects. As the medication is turned off, the patient breathes in only oxygen to clear the lungs. Since there are no side effects or lingering reactions, patients can drive themselves home and resume normal activities after the appointment.

They were friendly and listened to my concerns. They also didn't make feel bad. The new patient process is unique though. I thought I would get a cleaning for my first appointment however they did x-rays and exam first. The cleaning appointment was scheduled for a later date. I am happy with the staff and the Dr. I saw. November 22 - l just had my next dental cleaning & it was good as I've come to expect from SFD. I was in & out in a very short time. I barely got seated when they called my name. I've rarely had to wait, another reason they are such a super dental office. As always the people were great, I was in & out very fast. It was just a cleaning, between Covid & minor illness it was overdue. I had a horrible experience with a dentist years ago & I am always in a near panic whenever I see the dentist now. The staff has been so accommodating with me to ease my terror. I can actually breathe the whole time I'm in the chair. Personally I feel like they are the best dental office ever! I would give 10 🌟s if I could.
