What To Expect From Our Dental Implants & Restorations In Pineville Near Charlotte
The dental implant procedure begins by thoroughly assessing your oral health, determining your candidacy for dental implants, and establishing your dental restoration treatment plan.
The implant procedure is followed by an implant placement. Your Pineville dentist, Dr. Raynald L. Desameau, DMD, carefully places a suitable implant post in your jaw. Once the implant post is in place, you will go through a recovery period to allow the implant to fuse with your jawbone.
After the recovery period, an abutment is placed to form the base, allowing your tooth replacement to attach to the implant post. The dental implant surgery procedure’s final stage is the restoration stage, which may include the placement of a dental crown or bridge to replace your missing tooth or teeth.
Depending on your current level of oral health, jawbone density, and the number of implants you require, your experience during and after a dental implant procedure may differ. Our approach during a dental implant surgery procedure is tailored to meet your unique situation. With a complete dental restoration, your smile will be restored and your dental implant will look and function just like a natural tooth.
Benefits Of Dental Implants
It is well-known that the cost of dental implants can be higher than that of dental crowns or bridges; the long-term value and benefits of implants, however, are significantly superior to those of crowns or bridges.
Key benefits of dental implants include:
- Functional smile: A missing tooth can cause the adjacent teeth to start shifting. With dental implants, the other teeth are prevented from shifting, thereby restoring your straight smile.
- Durable restoration: Dental implants are much more durable than standalone restorations because they’re secured deep in your jawbone.
- Healthy bone: A dental implant mimics the tooth root that keeps your bone healthy. Therefore, your jawbone keeps receiving its natural stimulation without causing any bone loss. This is commonly encountered with many other standalone restorations such as fixed dentures and bridges.
- Beautiful smile: Dental implants look just like natural teeth, making them an excellent option for people who want a healthier, more beautiful smile!
Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Implants
The cost of dental implants varies from patient to patient, but it is usually determined based on the patient’s bone quality and bone quantity. While the cost of dental implants may initially seem expensive, dental implants are longer-lasting and more durable than other teeth replacement methods like dentures and bridges.
It often costs more to maintain dentures and bridges in the long run than it does to make an initial but long-lasting investment in dental implants.
At Radiant Smiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we provide affordable dental implants for patients who are missing one or more teeth. Fixed dentures are another teeth replacement option for missing teeth. Fixed dentures are permanent replacement teeth that are held in place by dental implants or a dental bridge.
A dental implant, on the other hand, is a prosthesis for replacing missing teeth. Usually, an implant consists of a small titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone, on top of which a single crown, fixed bridge, partial denture, or full denture can be attached. Once the implant is fused to your jaw bone, an abutment is connected to the implant and is then attached to the artificial tooth or teeth.
Unlike removable dentures that require multiple replacements over time, fixed dentures are permanently attached to your implants.
With fixed dentures, you don’t need to struggle with denture glue and will be able to eat your favorite meals easily. At Radiant Smiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, our dentists will assess your dental needs to determine your candidacy for dental implants or fixed dentures in Pineville near Charlotte.
Nearly anyone who is missing a single tooth or multiple teeth is an excellent candidate for dental implants.
The bioTE hormone replacements are fashioned into tiny pellets, which are inserted into the body in a discreet location. It takes just a few minutes to complete the pellet insertion, and most people have no pain or only mild discomfort. The pellets will deliver steady doses of the all natural hormones into the body. This process generally needs to be repeated every 4-6 months in women. Many women notice an improvement in the way that they feel almost immediately, and they may also notice that they look more youthful overall thanks to the positive impact the natural hormones can have on the skin. The difference between an All-on-4® dental implant and traditional implants is the number of implants it has. Unlike individual traditional implants, an All-on-4® implant is used on individuals missing all their teeth as alternative teeth replacements. Based on your unique needs, our dentists will assess your condition and determine your candidacy for either simple traditional dental implants or All-on-4® implants.

To start, I’m using my husband’s Google account, so I’m the wifey. I went to Radiant Smiles today and have to admit I was terrified of being there. I usually get devil hygienists who take pleasure in drawing as much blood from my gums as possible as they gripe about me needing to floss. I’ve avoided dentists for over 3 years for fear of vengeful hygienists, but I had a terrible toothache and couldn’t avoid it any more. I went today expecting to need a root canal or at least multiple fillings and chose this practice because they were recommended to me. My impressions were as follows: 1. The practice was clean and precise. Despite the Covid restrictions, things moved like clockwork. 2. The hygienists weren’t out for blood. I genuinely enjoyed my visit, and my hygienist made an effort to avoid my tender tooth while she was working on my teeth. I appreciated that. 3. The dentist himself was HONEST (elaborating below), professional, and prompt. No long waiting in the chair staring at the wall. Turns out my gum was just irritated from some food stuck in the veeeeery back of my tooth that I couldn’t reach. I was prepared and pretty vocal about thinking I would need major work done on my teeth to fix the ache. I’ve always had perfect, healthy teeth, and I was scared about getting a ton of work done but resigned to it. However, I was reassured that my gum was only agitated from the ‘debris’ stuck in the back (a polite way for them to say you have some food in your teeth😂) and a salt water wash for 2-3 days back there should fix it. If not, I can call back to have a paste called in to my pharmacy. I’ve been raked over the coals by dentists before. Luckily I seek second opinions most of the time. A lot of them are, unfortunately, looking for lots of work for lots of money. Honesty is invaluable, and this will be my practice of choice for more regular cleanings in the future. I highly recommend you try them out if you’re looking for a new dentist. The whole experience was positive, and I won’t be dreading my return for a cleaning in six months now!Preacher Jason Myers

Very friendly and caring staff. Everybody made me and my kids feel at ease, relaxed and informed about the process. They were very patient as we asked questions and tuned in to my daughter's dental anxiety. Wonderful bedside manner from the dentist and hygienists. Highly recommend!!Joanne Karr
Great environment once I walked through the doors. I believe I was the last appointment of the day but everyone was still lively and helpful. I was just doing X-rays and cleaning and my hygienist, Dash made sure I wasn’t uncomfortable at any point. Dr. Desameau was very caring and knowledgeable and the whole process was really fast and efficient. My other dentist office would make me wait for so long that I hated going to the dentist.Tommy

My recent visit was nothing short of amazing. The staff creates such a warm environment, you’ll almost forget that you’re at a dental office. The ladies at the front desk Zaria and Shannon are very professional. Tonia and Karen made me feel safe and relaxed. And Ms Dash, there’s no words to describe her. She’s simply the best! She took great care of my teeth. I also met Dr. Desameau- very pleasant person. I’m proud to say this is my new Dental home. I’ll be bringing all my family and friends here. If you’re looking for a safe and friendly environment, look no further.Sasha GoldenTouch
